De Sa praise for Maritzburg

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa believes Maritzburg United are much better than their position in the table suggests.

The Urban Warriors will travel to the Harry Gwala Stadium to take on the relegation-embattled Team of Choice in their penultimate game of the season on Wednesday.

Ernst Middendorp's side are bottom of the table, jointly on 21 points with fellow strugglers University of Pretoria.

"This is certain to be another tough match for us. In my opinion, Maritzburg are probably the best team I've seen at the bottom of the log in a long time," De Sa said on the club's official website.

"They've been a little bit unfortunate with a couple of their results, which drew them into that relegation zone, so we are expecting probably one of the toughest games of our season.

"They are a team that's fighting to get out of the bottom spot, they don't deserve to be there either. This is also probably their last chance to get out of there, so we've really got to be up to it."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
