De Sa not focused on Cape derby

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa says he isn't focused on the Cape derby against Cape Town City, but rather registering maximum points against Polokwane City.

The Urban Warriors have recorded one point from their opening two league encounters, with their most recent fixture ending in a 2-1 defeat against Orlando Pirates.

The Star newspaper asked the former Pirates mentor if there were any nerves ahead of the encounter against Eric Tinkler's charges on Friday, 23 September.

De Sa replied: "No. I’ve played in bigger derbies than this."

De Sa turned his attention to Ajax's league encounter against Luc Eymael's men and stated his belief that they would have to make the most of their home ground advantage.

"We look forward to playing at home. Playing away does hurt us a bit," he added.

"We have to take advantage of being at home. We have to do the best we can.

"We have to get it right now. We feel like we’ve dropped five points. Every game is key, every one. These are the ones that make the difference. It’s these type of games you know that you want your points from."

Ajax face Polokwane City at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday evening at 19:30.
