Pretoria - Following their hard-fought win over the National First Division (NFD) side Royal Eagles during the week, SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels says they will show character and play like champions in the 10th edition of the Nedbank Cup.
The Ke Yona competition's reigning champions have been drawn against another lower division outfit, KwaDukuza United, in the last 16 of the R7m competition and Daniels believes that good preparation for their next clash will be of good use.
The Cape Town-born man-marker admitted that it is much tougher facing an ‘unknown’ club than PSL counterparts.
“The last game our opponents (Eagles) really gave us a good run for our money,” stressed Daniels.
“But we came up top because our mentality is strong enough to play these kind of games. Yes we are champions and we must always play like champions.
“Again it’s always important for us to know to prepare for these lower division teams because we know nothing about them and they know everything about us.
“But we know they are good teams and they can play good football and on the other hand we want to progress to the next round of the competition.”
