Coetzee's last match in the Absa Premiership was for Ajax Cape Town at the beginning of last season, before days later he moved to Sundowns on a five-year deal.
However, prior to the switch, the 21 year old saw a move to Celtic in Scotland fall through due to the severity of the injury he was dealing with.
It later transpired that restricted blood flow to the affected area was hindering recovery, and fears were raised he may have to retire from professional football.
Nonetheless, the player has since made a full recovery and recently started full training with the Brazilians.
As such, the Bafana Bafana centre-back is expected to make his first appearance for the outfit from Chloorkop in the upcoming campaign.
His agent Mike Makaab told the Sowetan: "He’s been in a special programme for months and we are very optimistic that he will be back this coming season."
