Cape Town - Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has revealed that the club is having difficulties finding a coach due to continued speculation over the Bafana Bafana job.
The Team of Choice have expressed interest in Roger de Sa but the tactician is said to keen on the Bafana post.
Shakes Mashaba is reportedly set to be axed as Bafana coach in the near future, prompting several out-of-work coaches to be linked with the job.
Maritzburg are under the guidance of Fadlu Davids after the resignation of Ernst Middendorp.
"The coach will only be finalised in January. The thing is that we have problems, because coaches are on the short-list for Bafana and they can't commit until the year end," Kadodia told the Sowetan.
"So we can't talk about the coaches until the first week of January. Yes, we had an interview with Roger and that's where we finished off. He has to decide whether he works with Bafana or Maritzburg."
Maritzburg will face Orlando Pirates in their next game at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday.
There has been recent speculation that SAFA has interviewed up to four local PSL coaches and one foreign coach to become the new head coach of the National team.
There has also been numerous delays in the disciplinary hearing process involving Shakes Mashaba who has been charged by SAFA with gross insubordination and bringing the organisation into disrepute.
