Cape Town - Agent Lizwe Mthethwa has revealed that a number of clubs have inquired about a loan deal for his client SuperSport United striker Phumelele Bhengu.
After becoming top scorer in the National First Division last season with 22 goals for Thanda Royal Zulu, Bhengu has only made four appearances for Matsatsantsa this term.
Among the club that have made enquiries about the players services are Royal Eagles and Maritzburg United.
"Sbu Mpisane (Eagles chairman) called me yesterday to take Bhengu on loan but Eagles is not the only club, so has Maritzburg United, Thanda, Highlands Park," Mthethwa told KickOff.
"But it is absolutely not true that Ace has requested a loan. He is very happy to be where he is. In our most recent meeting a day ago he told me that he wants to stay at SuperSport and to honour his contract.
"However, the coach Gordon Igesund feels otherwise. He feels the other strikers are better than Bhengu, which in my professional and personal opinion is not true.
"With respect, it is not like he is fighting with the Cristiano Ronaldo's of this world."
