Citizens relishing continental battles

Cape Town - Following their impressive maiden season in the top flight football, Cape Town City defender Vincent Kobola says his team are content with what they have managed to achieve considering that they were the new kids on the block.

The Citizens finished third on the Absa Premiership log and also won the 2016/17 Telkom Knockout title courtesy of their 2-1 triumph over SuperSport United back in December.

The 32-year-old man marker insisted that the Mother City outfit is looking forward to compete in next years’ CAF Confederations cup.

“We wanted to reach the top three as a team. That was our goal and now we have achieved that,” said Kobola.

“We are all happy at our camp because we are satisfied with the way the season unfolded for us.

“Considering that it was our first season in the PSL it was a massive achievement for us as we also won the Telkom Knockout.

“So now we are looking forward to compete in the CAF Confederations cup next year.”
