Cape Town - Cape Town City are reportedly interested in signing Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Nhlanhla Khuzwayo when his contract expires at the end of the season.
According to Goal, the Soweto giants are set to discuss a potential extension with the South Africa international in the coming weeks, but with first-team opportunities limited Khuzwayo could seek a move away from Naturena.
At 27, he has played second fiddle to Itumeleng Khune since arriving at the club in 2012 and a transfer elsewhere could enhance his chances of earning a regular spot in the Bafana Bafana squad.
Soccer Laduma reported this week that Khuzwayo has been shortlisted as a target for Benni McCarthy's side, with Sage Stephens and Shuaib Walters being rotated in goal this season.
With both keepers failing to inspire confidence under the management of McCarthy, Khuzwayo and veteran Moeneeb Josephs have been tipped for a move come end of the campaign.
City next face a trip to the Peter Mokaba Stadium to face the high-flying Baroka FC in a Telkom Knockout round of 16 clash on Sunday.
Kick off is at 15:30.
