Chippa chairman denies Bance claims

Cape Town - Chippa United chairperson Chippa Mpengesi insists there is no outstanding salary owed to striker Aristide Bance, following the departure of the Burkina Faso international from the club.

Bance, who joined the Port Elizabeth-based club at the beginning of the season under former coach Roger Skhakhane, was release by the Chilli Boys earlier this month after a fall-out with the club's management.

The 31-year-old attacker later claimed that the dispute was over his unpaid salary, which forced him to pack his bags and part ways with the club.

However, United boss Chippa Mpengesi has set the record straight, claiming that the Ivorian-born forward was released from his contract because of his lack of impact in the team.

"We released Bance about three weeks ago because he was out of favour with the coach," Mpengesi told KickOff.

"He has left the country already and we paid him until the end of the season," he added.

The widely-travelled striker only made 14 league appearances in Dan Malesela's team, scoring three goals, while providing two assists.
