Cape Town - S'fiso Hlanti's agent has revealed that three unnamed Premiership clubs have shown an interest in signing the AmaZulu left-back next month.
The 25-year-old is entering the final six months of his contract at Usuthu, who recently confirmed he had refused to pen an extension to his current deal.
There were hopes that Hlanti would follow in the footsteps of Energy Murambandoro and Goodman Dlamini by also committing his future to the Durban club as they attempt to win promotion back to the top flight at the first attempt.
However, Lizwe Mthethwa of AFTERSEC Sport Group claims his client has been in touch with three teams, thought to be Bidvest Wits, SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs, as Hlanti looks to take the next step in his career.
"Hlanti still has a contract with AmaZulu that he will honour, but we can't shy away from the fact that there is a lot of interest in him," Mthethwa told KickOff.
"We are listening to two or three clubs in Gauteng on what they have to say, but anything done on paper will have to wait until the 1st of January.
"That will give AmaZulu management enough time to engage with us should they wish to do so but, if not, then we will have to advise our client to do what's best for him, his career and his family."
