Chiefs' Twala linked with Maritzburg loan move

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs winger William Twala could be set to join Maritzburg United on a loan spell.

Twala has battled for game-time this season, as the 27-year-old has only made six substitute appearances in the league.

The arrival of attacking midfielders Siphelele Ntshangase and Kabelo Mahlasela, together with the likes of Joseph Malongoane, Dumisani Zuma and Bongolethu Jayiya, means there will be even stiffer competition for starting places.

And Twala's agent, Tim Sukazi, told the Citizen website that the former Chippa United winger could be headed for the exit door, at least for the rest of this season.

"Players need to play, everyone is looking for game time, and he is no exception to that.

"We have been talking to Maritzburg potentially on a loan basis, and that is still under consideration. It sounds promising, but we will see whether it will happen."
