Chiefs starlet targets World Cup success

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs and South Africa starlet Wiseman Meyiwa admits that he is targeting more success with Amajita at the upcoming under-20 World Cup in May and June.

The midfielder was a part of the team that reached the semi-finals of the recently completed Africa Cup of Nations in Zambia, and in doing so the U20 outfit qualified for the World Cup in South Korea.

As such, despite being in a tough group with Japan, Uruguay and Italy, Meyiwa is optimistic of more success.

"I have gathered enough experience to be ready for South Korea. I am delighted to be part of the national team set-up. Being at Chiefs’ development is also a plus to be recognised at the national team level," he told the club's official website.

"We know that it is not going to be easy, but we are up to the task. I am back at the club, working hard at training and playing in friendlies, because the MultiChoice Diski Challenge is on recess at the moment."
