Chiefs new signings 'to raise the stakes' says Shabba

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala is confident the club's the eight new signings are just what they need to take them to the next level.

Chiefs will be looking to return to the glory days after going through last season without silverware last term and Tshabalala believes the new acquisitions will give them fresh impetus.

"I would like to welcome the guys and wish them well," Tshabalala wrote on his website.

"They have arrived at a time when we have to raise the stakes.

"This will be hard work and that is why we have to start now and push for success.

"It is great to be back. The family has reunited and we are working to improve on what was a disappointing season.

"That is now behind us and we have to be optimistic in order to work positively."
