Chiefs face 'keeper crisis

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs are in the midst of something of a goalkeeping crisis after the club confirmed that Brilliant Khuzwayo will likely be the only fit 'keeper against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Itumeleng Khune was recently ruled out with a back injury and coach Steve Komphela has confirmed that he is struggling to be ready to face Siwelele in their Absa Premiership clash next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, back-up shot-stoppers Luthando Sixhaso and Brylon Petersen are still recovering from surgery and aren't expected to be available for the encounter.

Such is the crisis facing the club in this department, Khune was named to sit on the bench while injured during Chiefs' recent 3-1 defeat to Chippa United.

The Glamour Boys are experiencing a host of injuries in other positions at the moment as well. The likes of Erick Mathoho, Tsepo Masilela, Sibusiso Khumalo and William Twala are all out.

In addition, Willard Katsande is not available to face Celtic after picking up a suspension.

Nonetheless, despite the injuries and suspensions facing Amakhosi in key positions, Komphela remains upbeat.

He said recently, "It's not easy but you cannot complain, no excuses. Keep on doing your job."

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.
