Chiefs expect explosive encounter against City

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs are expecting an explosive affair when they host Premiership high-flyers Cape Town City in a league clash on Tuesday night.

Amakhosi have gone five matches without a win and are currently four points behind the surprise package outfit from the Cape.

Meanwhile, the Citizens have won seven matches in a row and also have a Telkom Knockout final to look forward to against SuperSport United.

The recently formed outfit have been a revelation under coach Eric Tinkler and have already beaten Chiefs earlier this season in the MTN8.

As such, the Glamour Boys are under no illusions about the task facing Steve Komphela's charges in Tuesday's contest in Johannesburg.

The club's official website said, "Sparks are expected to fly when City visit us. The Citizens arrive at the FNB Stadium on the backdrop of rubbing shoulders with the leading pack on the PSL log.

"This anticipated fixture is a reminder of the earlier shock 1-0 defeat of Amakhosi by the Citizens in the quarter-final of the MTN8."

Steve Komphela has issued a warning to his misfiring team that their failure to win games was not good enough for a club of Chief's stature.

Kick off is at 19:30.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
