Chiefs close in on Chicken Inn duo

Cape Town - Chicken Inn strikers Edmore Chirambadare and Mitchell Katsvairo are set to join Soweto gaints Kaizer Chiefs in the off-season, according to the players' agent.

AmaKhosi have come up well short in their title defence, currently trailing 2015/ 2016 champions Mamelodi Sundowns by 22 points with one game left to play.

Big changes are expected in the off-season at Naturena, with more firepower called for in particular, with the likes of Bernard Parker, Camaldine Abraw, Edward Manqele, Bongani Ndulula and Siphelele Mthembu all failing to make a substantial impact for Steve Komphela's team up front this season.

There has been ongoing speculation linking the club to the Chicken Inn pair, with the players' agent, Gibson Mahachi, telling the Sowetan on Monday that the transfer is looking imminent.

"I can confirm that negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs, so it is still on," Mahachi said.
