Chiefs battle Celtic for Litabe - report

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic are reportedly in a battle for the signature of Royal Eagles full-back Karabo Litabe, who plays his football in the National First Division.

According to Soccer Laduma, both Chiefs and Celtic have taken a strong interest in the talented 22-year-old, although it appears Siwelele might be winning the race to sign Litabe.

The publication reported that the Free State-based outfit have made contact with the player, and the first steps have been taken towards signing him from Eagles.

A source said: "Karabo first received a message from a high-ranking Celtic official. The player then spoke to that person, who asked details about his agent as well as his Eagles contract. Karabo currently wants to focus on his football, that's all."

When asked about the interest, Litabe, who has played 10 league games for the promotion-chasing Eagles, refused to make a comment.

Nonetheless, it appears a move to either club could potentially be in the offing during the January transfer window.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
