Celtic out to end 2015 off on a high

Cape Town - Chippa United and Bloemfontein Celtic will both look to bounce back from defeats in their last Absa Premiership matches when they meet at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Chippa suffered a second successive loss (and a third from their last four league matches) when they went down 4-3 at Jomo Cosmos on November 22.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed 10 points from six home matches this season.

The Chilli Boys are placed eighth on the Absa Premiership log with 13 points from 11 matches.

Celtic saw their winless streak in the league extended to five matches when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Black Aces on November 22.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed nine points from six away matches this season.

Phunya Sele Sele are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from 11 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Celtic have met in four previous league matches since 2012/13.

Phunya Sele Sele have three wins compared to one for the Chilli Boys, while zero matches have been drawn.

Chippa have recorded one win and one defeat from their two home matches against Celtic.

Phunya Sele Sele completed a league ‘double’ over the Chilli Boys last season, winning 1-0 at home and 2-1 away.

Celtic’s away win in the teams’ last league meeting snapped a streak of three home wins in this fixture.

Kick-off is at 20:00 on Friday, December 18.
