Carnell: PSL safety not certain

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic and Free State Stars both have plenty on the line when they face each other in their provincial derby in the Premiership on Sunday.

The two teams are struggling down in the lower half of the table ahead of the match at the Dr Molemela Stadium with Celtic sitting 12th on a paltry 22 points from 21 matches, while Ea Lla Koto are slightly better off in ninth with 28 points.

Siwelele have Lantshene Phalane suspended for the game, with Vuyisile Wana and Mthokozisi Dube also out with long-term injuries.

Ea Lla Koto, meanwhile, are enjoying a good run of form with back-to-back wins over Ajax Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup and league and will take a lot of confidence into the match with assistant coach Bradley Carnell saying they need to pick up every point possible.

"We have built ourselves a little bit of a bolster but mathematically there is still nothing certain in this league," Carnell explained.
