Cardoso happy with dream debut

Cape Town - Former Free State Stars defender Daniel Cardoso reveals finally making his official debut for Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday felt like a dream.

Cardoso joined Amakhosi during the off-season, but a shin bone injury kept him on the sidelines for most of the first half of the season. His last competitive match came in May last year when he was still with Ea Lla Koto.

The 27-year-old came on for Siboniso Gaxa, slotting in at right-back. during the second half of the 2-1 win over Matsatsantsa.

"It felt like a dream," Cardoso told the club's official website.

"I am happy to be back playing first team soccer and I am looking forward to contribute to the team.

"It is not easy to watch from the stands to see the side play."

It was the defender's long throw-in that resulted in William Twala's match-winning goal in the 89th minute.
