Cape Town sides show interest in Naicker

Cape Town - Jomo Cosmos goalkeeper Sherwyn Naicker has admitted that he could be moving to the Mother City, with Ajax Cape Town and Cape Town City both reportedly interested.

Ajax have just seen their number one goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola departing for Reading in England, while Cape Town City are building their squad after buying the franchise of Black Aces and moving down to the Western Cape.

With former Aces keeper Jackson Mabokgwane looks set to join Orlando Pirates, Eric Tinkler's City side may also be on the lookout for a new shot-stopper.

According to Naicker, both Cape teams have expressed interest in his services after he decided not to renew his contract with Jomo Cosmos after they were relegated last season.

"There's a possibility that I might be going to Cape Town. There's interest that side, from Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town," Naicker told Sowetan Live.

"There's exposure in the PSL, so my goal is to stay. The level is higher and the pay is also better."
