Cape Town City go pink for cancer - PICTURE

Cape Town - Cape Town City FC will don a pink jersey in their home match against Baroka FC to help raise cancer awareness.

In a statement released, City have confirmed that they have joined forces with the Cancer Association of South Africa ahead of the Premiership fixture.

"Cape Town City FC is proud to announce a special involvement with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), by dedicating the club’s home Absa Premiership match against Baroka FC on Saturday, 15 October, to help raise awareness of this worthy cause during Cancer Awareness month," the statement read.

"The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) plays a leading role in cancer research and cancer control policy development, as well as providing care, support and education to South Africans affected by the dreaded disease.

"CANSA’s purpose is to lead the fight against cancer in South Africa with a mission of becoming the preferred non-profit organisation that enables research, educates the public and provides support to all people affected by cancer.

"As part of Cape Town City FC’s contribution, the club’s PSL team will play in a limited edition pink kit against Baroka FC.

"ALL women will be permitted free entry for the match at Cape Town Stadium, which kicks-off at 20:15"
