Cape Town - Platinum Stars coach Peter Butler looks set to become the second casualty of the 2017/18 Absa Premiership season.
Dikwena are the only team in the league not to have claimed a point after two rounds of action and they have conceded five goals while scoring just once.
Their performances have been somewhat lackluster and it would appear that Butler, the former Botswana national team coach, is struggling to get his players into gear.
According to the Sowetan, the 51-year-old Englishman was told by club management on Wednesday that he is to be axed.
"The board met with him (Butler) on Wednesday night and what is left now is for an official announcement on his sacking‚" an inside source was quoted saying.
"The board has decided to act swiftly before things get worse because the players are not responding to him."
The likes of Ernst Middendorp and Roger de Sa are reported front-runners for the job, while Kosta Papic and Ruud Krol's names have also been mentioned.
Should he indeed be fired, Butler would join Sammy Troughton, who was sent packing by Free State Stars, as the two early coaching casualties of this year's campaign.
