Buthelezi laments Chiefs' trophyless season

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Linda Buthelezi has bemoaned the Glamour Boys' trophyless 2015/16 season.

Amakhosi had a disappointing season under coach Steve Komphela, where they club lost two cup finals and finished fifth in the Absa Premirship table.

Chiefs lost in the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout finals in a campaign characterized by inconsistencies.

Buthelezi has advised the club management to bolster the squad with quality players in the transfer window.

"It's sad that Chiefs have finished the season without a trophy and also in position five," Buthelezi told Soccer Laduma.

"They need to rebuild next season and do much better. They need to sign quality players who can help the team fight for silverware next season.

"A team of Chiefs' calibre cannot finish a season without a trophy. It's not good."
