Buchanan says he'll be back in a fortnight

Cape Town - Newly-signed Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keagan Buchanan says he should be ready to return from injury in the next two weeks.

Buchanan joined Amakhosi in the off-season, but arrived carrying a knee injury which had kept him out of action for Bloemfontein Celtic since the start of this year.

The player, who will don the club’s number 10 jersey, has battled with several injuries in recent years and only made 17 league starts for Celtic over two seasons.

But the Cape Town-born central midfielder will be hoping to put those issues behind him in the coming campaign, and took to Instagram on Monday to declare that he is nearly ready to return to training for Steve Komphela’s side.

"Back on the field 100% 2 more weeks," he wrote.

Upon his arrival at Chiefs, it had been anticipated that the 24-year-old Buchanan would only be fit around the middle of October.

Chiefs sold midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane to SuperSport United, while another playmaker, captain Siphiwe Tshabalala is currently sidelined through injury.
