Brockie: The players are adapting

Cape Town - SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie says the playing style under Stuart Baxter is markedly different to that of former coach Gordon Igesund.

Baxter has been in charge for the last month after Matsatsantsa switched coaches at the end of January, the big spending club having found themselves in the bottom half of the table.

While Baxter has only managed a single win since taking over from Igesund, Brockie expects results to improve as the players become more accustomed to his tactics.

"When Stuart was appointed it brought with new ideas to the club which us as players have to adjust to," Brockie told Goal website.

"Slowly, game-by-game we are making steady progress. Now that we are getting to get a few more training sessions under our belt, we are starting to understand how Stuart wants us to play."

He continued: "It's two different styles really. Stuart wants us to hold the ball but also move the ball forward quickly and attack the opposition when on the turnover and try and exploit that way.

"It gives the players confidence to play out from the back and attack, whereas it was quite direct previously."
