Cape Town - SuperSport United's lethal striker Jeremy Brockie has revealed that opposition defenders are marking him closely since the blistering start his Premiership career.
Since joining Matsatsantsa in January, Brockie has led the scoring charts with 10 goals in the second half of last season and has already scored six in all competition this campaign.
When Brockie burst onto the scene last season, he caught opponents off-guard due to the lack of exposure to his style of play and believes he is now being specifically targeted by opposition defenders.
"I don't feel any added pressure as such. But I do notice that I'm a lot more tightly marked in games, so it's up to me to find ways of being more smarter on the pitch to out-think the defenders I'm coming up against," Brockie told KickOff.
"Strikers always go through good and bad spells in front of goal, and I have six so far [in all competitions], but I'm definitely keen to add a few more, especially in the league, and catch the front two or three leading the Golden Boot.
"In the earlier games I wasn't getting myself into as good opportunities as I was last year, which is something I've been working hard on now," he concluded.
