Billiat: The team chemistry is growing

Cape Town - Khama Billiat revealed that the team chemistry at Mamelodi Sundowns is growing with the club claiming victory in the the Dr Hage Geingob Cup over the weekend.

The current Premiership champions clinched the pre-season tournament for a record third-time, defeating Orlando Pirates 3-1 and Namibian side Tigers FC 4-2.

"We never underestimate any of our opponents. We prepare thoroughly and do our match analysis regardless of the opposition," Billiat told the club's website.

"The same amount of work that was put in preparing for Orlando Pirates was the same when we were preparing for final against Tigers FC."

The Premiership Footballer of the Season, who managed an assist and a goal in the final, revealed that the game against the lesser-known Tigers was not easy.

"Tigers were not an easy side because they made us sweat for the victory. Whenever we thought we had them they came right back, which is a sign of a strong team. Besides we were up against the reigning Namibian League champions," he said.

"I get very excited when the team plays well and get the results, even if I don't score. For me having a good game and contributing positively is all that matters."
