Billiat credits team for league triumph

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Khama Billiat has given credit to the players and the technical team for a job well done after clinching their seventh Premiership title on Wednesday night.

The Brazilians were crowned champions with two games remaining in the season, following their emphatic 3-0 league victory over relegation-threatened University of Pretoria at Tuks Stadium.

The Zimbabwe international has been a very influential member of Pitso Mosimane's squad throughout the campaign, boasting a massive 10 league goals and 15 assists.

"We have shown a lot of character throughout the season. Credit to our coaches whom are vastly experienced," Billiat said after the match.

Anthony Laffor, who produced a man-of-the match performance after scoring a hat-trick on the night, confesses that the Tswane outfit have always had faith in the quality they have in the team.

"We knew what we wanted, we have always known what we can achieve," the Liberia international added.
