Billiat, Castro continue to damage PSL teams

Cape Town - Pitso Mosimane continued to praise Leonardo Castro and Khama Billiat as they helped guide Mamelodi Sundowns to 2-0 victory over SuperSport United.

Sundowns took the lead when Asavela Mbekile finished off a swift counterattack with a delightful chip over the goalkeeper.

The Brazilians made no mistake with their second goal as Leandro Castro got his second assist of the night when he played it through for Khama Billiat to finish.

“No, it was not that easy, let’s be honest, they’re [SuperSport] a decent team, they had chances,” Mosimane said as quoted by KickOff.

“I think their shortfall was their technique for the chances they had. I think in the second half in the first five, ten minutes they had us and they could have hurt us somewhere there.

“But sometimes when they follow the sugar they look like they’re going to score, you’re going to open at the back and you know, we put the speed at the back and what a pass by Leo [Castro], he’s so smart.

“And you can’t leave Khama [Billiat] one against one with Clayton [Daniels] and Mario [Booysen], he’s quick.

“A very, very decent team SuperSport united, I think Stuart has done a very, very good job. In his time he needs to sort it out and in time it will be okay.”

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
