Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter is feeling good about his side's chances of advancing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Baxter saw his team edge out Royal Eagles 2-1 in a Nedbank Cup match on Wednesday night, as Matsatsantsa remained on course to defend the title they won last season.
The Pretoria side, who were beaten Telkom Knockout finalists in December, are also only a point off the top of the league standings.
Despite having been pushed hard by lower league opposition on Wednesday, Baxter was pleased with the effort his men put in and is now confident they can turn around a 3-2 first leg defeat when they host Al-Ahly Shendy in their CAF Confederation first round match on Sunday.
"We always said this would be a difficult game. I thought the lads approached it very well," Baxter said after the Eagles match.
"We'll try to just recuperate the players as quick as we can. We've got a game again at the weekend against Al-Ahly of Sudan and we want to turn that around.
"We've got a decent situation, we've got two away-goals, so we'll try and recuperate the boys, pick the strongest team we can and have a right go at that one."
