Baxter unfazed by games in hand for 'Downs

Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter says he is not concerned by Mamelodi Sundowns and their games in hand for the Premiership title race.

Baxter sung the praises of his players for the impressive form they have displayed this season as they edge closer to a club-record 19 matches without defeat.

Within that run, Matsatsantsa currently occupy top spot in the league with 35 points after 18 games, two points ahead of the Brazilians in fifth.

However, Pitso Mosimane's side have three fixtures in hand over their Tshwane rivals.

"We have put ourselves in a position of favourites and one of the candidates," Baxter told the Sowetan.

"The players must not let this current success go to their heads but they must give everything that they have to the cause.

"I don't worry about Sundowns because I can't control what they are going to do in their next matches.

"We are top of the log‚ we are candidates with things in our hands and we can perform to the level that put us in the mix."
