Cape Town SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter has praised his side's performance in a confidence-boosting 2-0 victory over University of Pretoria on Sunday.
Matsatsantsa secured the win against their struggling neighbours courtesy of goals from Sibusiso Khumalo and Thuso Phala.
Baxter believes the result has given his players a boost ahead of the clash against his former club, Kaizer Chiefs, on Saturday.
"The first-half was very good, the only negative was that we didn’t turn that dominance into more goals because we had maybe three or four 100% chances," Baxter told KickOff.
"And then the rain comes and it stopped, and it's a bit of stop-start, and if I'm gonna make an excuse for them, which I don't want to, it's that we lost our concentration at the beginning of the second half.
"But we continued to play decently on the transition and we should have wrapped it up a little earlier than when Thuso got a good goal, and then we missed one right at the death which was a sort of reflection of our performance.
"I've got to be pleased, we needed three points here to get a bit of a boost, we've only got a full week to work until we have a really interesting one against Kaizer Chiefs."
