Cape Town - SuperSport United head coach Stuart Baxter is happy with the progress his squad is making after seeing them thrash Golden Arrows 3-0 on Saturday.
Goals from Dove Wome, Kingston Nkhatha and Jeremy Brockie secured the emphatic victory to keep Matsatsantsa's hopes of finishing the season in the top eight alive.
The win moves them up to 10th place in the standings, just two points behind Free State Stars in eighth.
"Let's say we got 70 minutes of the way I like them to play and we have been getting 45 and 50 minutes, so I think this was an improvement," Baxter said after the match.
"Having said that, it's not easy to come in the mid-season and do things in five seconds.
"I like people to express themselves in the right areas and I think the first goal was a great example of South African skill: Lots of interesting moves and that was what I want us to play."
The English manager was also pleased with how effective his side were in executing their gameplan, which made their opponents play predictable and easy to deal with.
"Our pressing was designed to make them play those balls and we wanted to make them predictable," he added.
"Clayton got man of the match because he knew from minute one what a game he was going to get. He was getting balls into the channels and winning headers.
"I think that was the result of them being predictable and we could read what they were going to do and I'm pleased with that."
