The Port-Elizabeth outfit are set to meet with a number of Atletico delegates on Wednesday, 21 September with the intention of establishing a partnership.

Chippa's team manager, Luthando Zibeko, confirmed the details of the meeting, in addition to revealing that the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and Department of Sport would also be present at the meeting.

"An Atletico Madrid delegation will arrive in South Africa tomorrow (Tuesday). They have approached us about opening an academy in South Africa," he told Goal.com website.

"The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and Department of Sport (Eastern Cape) will also be present at our meeting.

"As a club we will look to partner with Atletico Madrid to enhance our academy. As part of the partnership we would like to see some of our academy players going to Spain for trials.

Chippa's PSL rivals SuperSport United already have a similar partnership with English Premier League (EPL) side Tottenham Hotspur.
