Arrows snap up Students' Shongwe

Cape Town - Durban-based top-flight outfit Golden Arrows have announced the signing of Bafana Bafana midfielder Jabulani Shongwe from Bidvest Wits.

Shongwe was a regular for the Clever Boys in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 campaigns, but apart from a few minutes of cup action, he did not feature in the first team at all in last season's championship-winning side.

Having reportedly been training with Clinton Larsen's team for some time now, Arrows confirmed on Tuesday that the 27-year-old had been signed.

Their tweet suggested it was either a loan or a short-term deal.

"I guess the cat's out the bag. We can confirm that we have acquired the services of Jabulani Shongwe. He will be our player for the season," the club stated.
