Arrows seek continuous strong form

Cape Town - Golden Arrows will look to continue their strong form in the Absa Premiership when they host Chippa United at Chatsworth Stadium.

Arrows have claimed seven points from the last nine up for grabs in the league, though they were held 1-1 at home by Ajax Cape Town on January 13.

The Durban side has claimed 11 points from six home matches this season.

Abafana Bes’thende are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 21 points from 13 matches.

Chippa suffered their seventh defeat of the season when they were beaten 3-1 at home by Bidvest Wits on January 10.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed three points from five away matches this season.

The Chilli Boys are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from 13 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Arrows and Chippa have met in just two previous top flight league matches.

Both encounters took place in the 2012/13 season, with Abafana Bes’thende completing a league ‘double’ by winning 2-0 at home and 2-1 away.

Kick-off is at 15:30 Saturday, January 16.
