Cape Town - Andre Arendse says Bidvest Wits should not underestimate Maritzburg United because of the log status.
Wits and United take face one another on Wednesday, February 24 at the Harry Gwala Stadium in an Absa Premiership.
The Students assistant coach believes that the Team of Choice should not be in the relegation zone because he does not think they are the worse team in the league.
“When you go into a game like Maritzburg United, which is going to be another tough battle, we’re going to have to scrap away for another three points if we want it,” he tells the Wits website.
“I think mentally what will help us a lot going into this game is to not underestimate them. Yes, they’re at the bottom of the league table; for my money they shouldn’t be there, they don’t have the worst team in the league as far as I can tell.
“I say that because most importantly, they come off the back of a very good win [over Celtic] so that was a desperate win for them and when you’re struggling at the bottom and you get a result like that, it does wonders for your confidence and we’ve got be careful that we don’t find their backlash after that particular result.
Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday.
