AmaZulu clash with Celtic abandoned

Cape Town - The Absa Premiership match between AmaZulu and Bloemfontein Celtic was abandoned after 15 minutes due to dangerous pitch conditions at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.

Heavy rain in Durban over the past 24 hours meant the field had absorbed a high percentage of water in the build-up to the game, forcing officials to think twice about playing even before the start.

The encounter in Umlazi eventually went ahead nine minutes later than the scheduled 19:30 kick-off, before it was deemed that conditions too bad to continue at the quarter-hour mark.

Arrows are fourth in the table, although they have gone eight matches without a win in the league, with ninth-placed Celtic only a point behind them, but having two games in hand.
