Pretoria - Inform Mamelodi Sundowns defender Modjeka Madisha reckons the Brazilians were once again far superior than SuperSport United as they clashed for a second time in a space of a week.
The first Tshwane derby ended in the favour of Pitso Mosimane's charges as Sundowns ran rampant with a 5-0 victory over United.
The league double was completed as the Brazilians handed Stuart Baxter's side another defeat at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. The grueling Absa Premiership clash ended 1-0 thanks to Hlompho Kekana’s solitary strike.
Sundowns are now in a commanding position on the log standings as they occupy fourth place with two games in hand.
Madisha said that despite Matsatsantsa's solid defence on the night, the reigning champions kept penetrating in an attempt to break the deadlock and were rewarded for their patience.
“We knew that we were not going to have it easy for the second time against SuperSport United," said Madisha.
“But we kept pressing and pressing, fortunately for us we managed to score. And thank God we got the victory at the end of the day.
“We managed to win because all our players came to the party, so we are happy with a win."
The Brazilians next league assignment will be against the struggling Ajax Cape Town at the Loftus Versfeld stadium on Tuesday while Matsatsantsa will be looking turn the tables around when they face Bidvest Wits away from home.
