Alexander set for Matsatsantsa exit

Cape Town - SuperSport United midfielder Cole Alexander is on the move and has been linked to Bloemfontein Celtic and Platinum Stars.

Having struggled to find favour under SuperSport coach Eric Tinkler, together with injury setbacks and the emergence of young talents such as Teboho Mokoena and Sipho Mbule, has meant that Alexander has enjoyed very little game-time this season; just 16 minutes in the league in fact.

The 28-year-old midfielder, formerly of Ajax Cape Town and Polokwane City, is naturally disappointed, but has accepted that it's time to move on.

"Firstly, I would like to thank Mr Stanley Matthews and the board members as well as everyone associated with the club for their support, as this is a special family club," he told KickOff.

"It's a pity that I didn't achieve my goals here at the club as I felt very at home and wanted to make more history with the club."

According to a source at SuperSport, Celtic and Platinum Stars as well as an unnamed third PSL club are keen on signing the all-action central midfielder.
