Ajax sign Wits defender

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town have further bolstered their squad ahead of the 2016/17 Absa Premiership season with the acquisition of defender Keorapetse Molete from Bidvest Wits.

Molete is product of the Sturrock Park-based outfit's youth development setup, and become the second player to be snapped up by the Urban Warriors this week, following the signing of Roscoe Petersen.

"I'm very proud to be an Ajax Cape Town player. It's been a dream for me to become a professional player, so to finally have my first professional contract means a lot to me and to my family."

"I'd like to thank all of my former coaches, especially Ashley Makhanya for grooming me as a player. I'd also like to thank the coach and management of Ajax Cape Town for seeing my potential and believing in me," Molete told the club's official website.

Molete, who is an attacking left-back, will compete with the likes of Mosa Lebusa, Aidan Jenniker and Yagan Sasman for a starting berth in Roger De Sa's side.

"Everyone's been very welcoming towards me and all of the other new players. This will be a good season for the club, because we are all working as a unit and are looking to strive together as a team," he added.

"There are a lot of young players in the team and also some more experienced players who can guide us, so I'm very excited to work with everyone."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
