Ajax midfielder wants out

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town manager Roger De Sa has confirmed that playmaker Bantu Mzwakali has issued a transfer request.

The academy graduate has been linked with moves to Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the past since breaking into the first-team set-up at Ikamva, but has now officially signaled his intent to leave the Urban Warriors.

"Bantu has told me that he would like to leave. He wants to go to a bigger club in Johannesburg and I respect that," De Sa told The Sowetan.

"Now it depends on which one of those clubs will come with an offer that will make the club and the player happy."

With Mzwakali set to depart, it would leave room for further academy graduates to be promoted and De Sa has hinted that there might be a major overhaul within the squad as interest in his young players increase.

"We have offers for 12 of our players. Is it a good position to be in? I will say yes, but not for the coach. It is good for the club but it is obviously a worrying factor for me," he said.
