Ajax extend Losper's deal

Cape Town - Just weeks after being transfer listed, Ajax Cape Town midfielder Toriq Losper has signed a four-year contract extension with the Mother City club.

Losper missed his club's pre-season tour to George, with Ari Efstathiou revealing to a local website at the time that the player was being influenced by 'outside pressures' and that he needed to 'straighten out his head'.

It was thought that the 24-year-old, currently in his second spell at the club after having left on loan for Bidvest Wits, would likely make a move in the transfer window.

But instead Ajax have made an about turn on the situation and announced that all has been forgiven and the attack-minded midfielder has put pen to paper in a four-year deal.

"Toriq has been with us since the age of 10, so we are happy to have secured his future with the club. All our attention can shift to football matters now that this has been resolved, which is in the best interest of the team," said Efstathiou in a statement on the club's website.

"We look forward to seeing many great moments from Toriq and the rest of the team."
