Ajax CT set to make 2 new signings

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town are set to bolster their squad with the impending signings of FC Platinum midfielder Gerald Takwara and Highlands Park attacker Muzi Thabotha.

According to reports from Goal, the Urban Warriors are in the process of finalising a deal for the Zimbabwe international hardman - who's been dubbed the new Willard Katsande and the exciting attacker from the National First Division leaders.

Takwara, 23, is a defensive-minded midfielder who's been attracting widespread interest from South African top-flight clubs after an impressive 2017 Cosafa Cup campaign.

And the 22-year-old Thabotha rose to prominence with 11 goals in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge team for the Lions of the North last season.

Despite failing to replicate that sort of form in the second-tier of South African football, the Cape Town-based side feel the tireless attacker could develop into a key player at Ikamva.

Ajax who are 13th on the Absa Premiership table will be aiming to move further away from the relegation zone when they take on Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 20:30.
