Ajax chase three points against SSU

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town will look to break their winless streak in the Absa Premiership when they host SuperSport United.

Ajax’s winless run was extended to four matches when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Orlando Pirates on November 4.

The Cape Town side has claimed 11 points from six home matches this season.

The Urban Warriors are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from eight matches.

SuperSport played to a second successive draw when they were held 1-1 at home by Bloemfontein Celtic on November 4.

The Tshwane side has claimed five points from four away matches this season.

Matsatsantsa are placed 12th on the Absa Premiership log with 10 points from as many matches.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and SuperSport have met in 32 league matches since 1999/2000.

Matsatsantsa have claimed 12 wins compared to 11 for the Urban Warriors, while nine matches have been drawn.

Ajax have won six of their 16 home matches against SuperSport, suffering four defeats in the process.

Last season, the Urban Warriors took four points off Matsatsantsa, drawing 0-0 in Cape Town before claiming a 2-1 away win in Pretoria.

Ajax have won three of the teams’ last four league meetings.

Kick-off is at 20:15 on Saturday, November 21.
