Zungu stalls on new deal

Cape Town - Bongani Zungu's agent has revealed the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder is in no rush to pen a new deal at Chloorkop, despite his current contract expiring at the end of the season.

The Bafana Bafana international is tied to the Brazilians until June next year, although the PSL giants are keen to extend his stay and have put forward fresh terms.

However, Zungu, who was part of the South Africa national team who beat Costa Rica on Friday morning, is in no rush to put pen to paper, preferring instead to focus on his football.

"There has been contact from Sundowns but at this moment the player is concentrating on playing and honouring his contract with Sundowns until the end of the season," Zungu's agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, told KickOff.

Zungu has been tipped with a move to Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season, but Kapeluschnik insists there has been no contact from the Soweto giants, saying: "There is only interest from overseas."
