Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane was happy to receive an award at the SA Sports Awards.
According to KickOff, Yeye was left feeling honoured after Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula awarded the 32-year-old a prize for earning his 50th international cap for Bafana Bafana in their 2-1 victory over Sudan.
“I'm happy and I feel honoured and privileged to have have been given this award,” Letsholonyane said.
“There are so many players in South Africa who reached the 50th cap and I'm one of those who got the special reward from our minister and football fraternity.
“So I'm blessed and happy that I got this award.”
Yeye admits that as a footballer you want to achieve things and having helped Bafana Bafana secure AFCON qualification, the player believes that every player is seeking to be a part of the team come January.
“And Afcon is one of those tournaments that every player would want to participate and be part of the team that helped the country to be playing in the Afcon next year.
“I'm happy and honored.”
