Cape Town - Midfield maestro Reneilwe ‘Yeye' Letsholonyane believes Kaizer Chiefs remain the team to beat as Amakhosi begin the Absa Premiership title against Chippa United on Sunday.
The Amakhosi will start the PSL season against the club that they finished the league off against in 2014/15, and Steve Komphela’s men will be hoping for a positive start as their set out to defend their title.
Letsholonyane told Sport24 that the club have prepared very well for the start of the new campaign under new mentor, Komphela.
“We have been preparing with the coach and I think we are ready for the opening match of the new season,” Letsholonyane told Sport24.
“We want to win and set new records.
"We always have goals to achieve and I’m confident we will reach our goals.”
The experienced midfielder said coming from two goals down to beat Maritzburg United 5-3 in their midweek MTN8 quarter-final was a sign that Amakhosi are a club on a mission to improve from last season's successes where they won two trophies, breaking records along the way.
Chiefs play Chippa at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday afternoon, the match is set to get underway at 15:00.
