Xulu: It was an emotional debut

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyanda Xulu made his official debut on Wednesday and he says he’s happy to finally be part of the team he grew up supporting.

In an eventful game, he scored an own goal and then scored the goal that put Chiefs in front against Maritzburg United in their 5-3 win in the MTN8 quarter-finals.

Speaking to Sport24, Xulu said it was an emotional debut for him and he was happy he ended up on the winning side on the day.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns defender said that said that he is thankful to everyone in the team for making him feel at home.

"It was an emotional debut for me," Xulu told Sport24.

“It was a good result for the team and I was happy that I was part of the winning team on the day.

“I grew up supporting Chiefs and I am happy that I am now playing for the team!”
